Bihar government vacancies are not listed on one single website. Different commissions and boards recruit for different posts, and each publishes its own notifications, application forms, admit cards and results. Knowing which body recruits for your post saves time and keeps you away from fake job sites.
Who recruits for which Bihar government jobs
Some departments also advertise posts on their own websites. The Government of Bihar portal at lists departments and links to their sites.
How to apply for a Bihar government job
- Read the official notification first. It states the posts, eligibility, age limits, fee, important dates and the exact way to apply. Download it from the recruiting body’s own website, not from a third party.
- Register on the official portal. BPSC asks candidates to complete a One Time Registration (OTR) at and then apply for individual recruitments from that profile. Other bodies have their own online application pages.
- Fill in the form carefully. Use your name, date of birth and category exactly as they appear on your certificates.
- Upload your photo, signature and documents in the size and format the notification asks for.
- Pay the fee online, if one applies. Fees and concessions differ for each recruitment and are listed in the notification.
- Submit and save the acknowledgement. Keep the application number and a PDF or printout. You will need it for the admit card, answer key and result.
Documents to keep ready
- Matriculation certificate for date of birth
- Educational qualification certificates and marksheets
- Caste certificate if you claim reservation, see our RTPS certificates guide
- Residence certificate, income or EWS certificate where the notification asks for them
- Aadhaar or another government photo ID
- A recent photograph and a scanned signature
- An active mobile number and email address
How to avoid fake job websites
- Check the web address. Official recruiting bodies use bihar.gov.in addresses.
- No genuine recruitment asks you to pay an agent or an individual to get a job.
- Ignore messages that promise guaranteed selection or direct entry. They are scams.
- Never share OTPs, passwords or bank details with anyone who offers to help with your application.
Always verify dates. Last dates, vacancy numbers and fees can be extended or revised. The official notification and the recruiting body’s website are the final authority.
